Challenges of Dating a Foreigner
When you are dating a foreigner,
you either have the same or different dating styles.
- If you have the same, dating usually feels easy and familiar.
- However, if your dating styles are different, it often feels challenging and frustrating. This is because you are not only used to having different stages, but will also behave in very different ways due to your differences in mindsets & beliefs.

What are Dating Styles?
There are several different dating cultures around the world, but there are four distinctively different ones. The rest are just like accents of languages.
We call them dating styles.
For ease of simplicity and association, we call them the: American Style, European Style and Asian Style.
The Four Dating Styles
Explorer Style
Typical in countries like USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand as well as some Northern European and Germanic countries.
Flirty Style
Common in France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine and many Latin American as well as some African countries.
Family Style
Typical in very traditional countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam.
Traditional Style
Typical in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, as well as some Arab and African countries.
Why Learn Them?
If you live in a multicultural city, study abroad or travelling around the world, understanding the different dating styles are important.
Learning them will help you know in advance what someone’s dating style is and how or why your dating cultures might clash. This will help you ensure, you don’t unknowingly ruin something that could otherwise be truly special. Having regrets are the worst. Learn it now!
